Women’s IPL 2025 Auction Summary
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction took place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, where five teams acquired 19 players for a total of ₹9.05 crore to strengthen their squads.
The most expensive player of the auction was Simran Shaikh, who Gujarat signed for ₹1.90 crore. Gujarat also made a big move by acquiring Deandra Dottin for ₹1.70 crore.
A major highlight of the auction was 16-year-old G Kamalini, who joined Mumbai for ₹1.60 crore after a stellar performance in the Women’s U19 Asia Cup, where she led India to a nine-wicket victory over Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru (RCB) picked up Prema Rawat, a leg-spinner from Uttarakhand, for ₹1.20 crore along with young talents Joshitha VJ, Jagravi Pawar, and Raghvi Bist.
Delhi focused on bolstering their squad with power-hitters like Nandini Kashyap, along with Scotland wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce and Women’s U19 captain Niki Prasad.
Among other notable signings, Nadine de Klerk, who played for RCB last season, will now play for Mumbai. UP secured Australian leg-spinner Alana King, who had been impressive in the Women’s Big Bash League for the Perth Scorchers.
One of the biggest surprises of the auction was that Sneh Rana, who captained Gujarat as a stand-in during the first season, went unsold.
